Thank you so much! It's fascinating to get actual feedback so that I know what whether what was in my head actually came out 'on paper.' I feel so badly (for them) that the 'reality' got in the way. That's always been something I do (I've been told) in my writing, is that it's very real and sometimes that gets in the way of wanting to just write something silly and romantic. I don't know how!

I did mean for them to be awkward after the time apart but I had this vision of Shane being more kind of amused and genuinely okay with the craziness that surrounds Brendon. I'd intended to show a Shane honestly accepting of that without remorse and I think I missed the mark a little.

Ah, well, I'll keep trying. Thank you so much for giving it your time and giving me some useful feedback. I'm very much poking at my brain and trying to figure out how what I'd intended to write came out the way it did. hmm..
